Summer’s Best

On Tuesday next, 20th September, we are holding our fun competition to find the best PDIs from our summer events programme.

Come along and enjoy the evening from 7.30pm – 10.00pm.

Vote for your favourite images. 

If time allows, see the images from the Quarry Exhibition and the ‘6 extra images’ collection.

Share the  FREE  tea, coffee and biscuits. 

Don’t forget!  We will be at our new venue:  Scott Lower School, Hawk Drive, Bedford, MK41 7JA (directions)

There will be a small charge to cover the cost of hiring the hall.

The Final Countdown!

It is getting close to the deadline for you to submit your images for the Best of Summer PDI competition.

We would love to see your best images from all our visits this summer – send in up to four by next Tuesday, 13th September at the latest ready for the competition on 20th September.

We would also like you to share your PDIs of other places you have visited this summer, just for interest – send us up to six images – and to give us your views of our summer event programme.

Don’t forget the change of venue to Scott Lower School, Hawk Drive, Bedford, MK41 7JA.  This will be your first chance of the year to explore the new venue. 

So come along and vote for your favourite images of the summer.

 

Best of Summer PDIs – EXTRA EXTRA

SPECIAL OFFER! MAY NEVER BE REPEATED!

“Why stick at two?” we thought, “this is just a fun competition.” So let’s see more images, many more images. 

Now you can submit up to 4 (YES, COUNT THEM, NOT 1, 2 or 3 BUT FOUR)  images for the competition.  If you have already sent in 2 then please feel free to send in more numbered as 3 and 4.  A chance to try that picture when you couldn’t decide which one to submit – we know you had some, we all do.

You can find all the information you need to help you submit your images here.  Please take care to follow the example when naming your images (basically it is the same format, file naming convention and the same email address as all our normal club competitions, cut off date 13/09/16)

BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE

Just to add to the fun of the evening, why not also send in some of your favourite images from other venues you have visited this summer.  It would be great to learn of different places to explore and photograph both locally and away. You can talk us through them too. Send them to me (Linda) at mychoice@bedfordcameraclub.co.uk before 13/09/16, subject “My Choice”. Let’s say around max 6 images sounds about right unless they are absolutely stunning (which I am guessing they may be.)

There will be a small collection, no more than £3 each, to share the cost of the hall hire. But did we tell you we have FREE tea and coffee served in the brilliant all-new (not secondhand) large cardboard cups just like all the best coffee shops?

Photofest reminder!

Don’t forget that this Sunday Photofest is taking place at Thorpe Hall Peterborough.

There will be plenty of opportunities to practise your photography skills, see the exhibition and visit trade stalls.

Photofest 2016

 

This Sunday, 14th August, sees the staging of Photofest at Thorpe Hall, Peterborough, PE3 6LW.

Photofest is being organised by the PICO camera group at Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall. They will have their photographic exhibition and promise several photographic opportunities including model photography, 1940’s recreation, dance groups, Thorpe gardens and more so don’t forget your camera. Free parking, £2 entrance for charity.

We need your images!

We hope you are enjoying the summer events programme and are taking some pleasing images along the way.

It would be great to be able to share your favourite shots with fellow members and also any visitors to our website to show them how varied our programme is.

Please send your images to summerpics@bedfordcameraclub.co.uk so they can be added to the summer events gallery (you can see it on the website by going to galleries, events, summer event pictures.  You will find image submission guidelines there.

It will only take you a few minutes to choose your favourite images which can then be shared with everyone.
