Bedfordshire Invitation Interclub

Bedfordshire Invitation Interclub Competition Report

The first external competition Bedford camera club entered for the 2018 – 2019 season was the Bedfordshire Invitation Interclub competition which this year was hosted by Buckingham Camera Club on Wednesday 23rd October and the judge was Chris Forster.

12 clubs entered with each club entering 5 images.

Our entry was

  • Deadvlei by John Dunn
  • Into the light by Cliff Harvey
  • Girl Power by Andy Howe
  • Broken by Andy Howe
  • Under the design by John Pegram

The judge appeared to like images which simply told a story and only awarded 3 maximum 20 points throughout the evening.  One of these maximum scores was awarded to Broken by Andy Howe.

At the end of the evening 2 clubs were tying for 1st place with 83 points, Park Street Camera Club and Harpenden Photographic Society.  A tie break round was the used to determine Park Street the eventual winner.

Bedford’s overall score at the end of the evening was 81 points which brought us in to 4th place, 1 point behind Shillington Camera Club and 1 point in from of Biggleswade Camera Club.

On Friday the 23rd November we are entering this year’s 3-Way between Biggleswade, Shillington and Bedford. This year it’s held at Biggleswade and could be another close competition. I’m sure Biggleswade will be happy to welcome anyone who would like to attend.
