Camera Club of the Year 2017-18

The Bedford Camera Club’s entries for the Photography News Camera Club of the Year 2017-18.

The Photography News competition involves 5 rounds, each round is for a given theme which is announced when that round is about to begin. A club enters 5 images, each must be from a different member.

It is clear that ordinary shots won’t be good enough to get high scores.  The images must grab the judges’ attention in the few seconds each image will be allowed.  Impact is all important.

Details of each theme will be emailed to members when it is announced.

We invite entries from members for each round. Please email your PDI(s) to  There is a competition requirement that the image should be JPG, sRGB, black borders not required, at least 1500px on the longest edge and a file size no larger than 3MB.

Once we have a shortlist, a selection of 5 images for submission will be made in the same way that we do for other external competitions.

This is a great opportunity for the club to display its talent, but winning will not be easy.  Knowing how good New City is, and how hard they worked to win the competition last season, we should be under no illusion that this competition is ours for the taking.  The PDI images we submit will have to be geared for this type of competition.
