East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies Club Print Competition.
On 4th March Bedford camera club entered the East Anglian Federation of photographic societies club print competition.
Of the 130 clubs who make up this federation 28 clubs entered this competition. It is judges by 3 judges who scored 1 to 5 making a maximum score of 15 per image. The judges score instantly the print was placed in the light box. The 1st round consisted of 15 prints from each club and of the 420 prints reviewed only 1 scored the maximum 15, the average score being 10 or 11. The highest scoring 12 clubs then went through to the next round where the judges reviewed a further 10 images from each club.
This year Bedford entered some new images and these were not all reviewed by the judges as well as we had hoped. We finished last of the clubs who entered but made some new contacts and renewed some old contacts where we discussed how we could proceed from here.
The event was won by Beyond Group with a final score of 307 for their 25 images over the 2 rounds, second place went to Cambridge with Ware and District coming in 3rd followed by PICO in 4th place with a score of 293. All 4 of these clubs will go onto represent the EAF at the national competition.
Our next competition is this Thursday 8th March when we will be competing at Milton Keynes Central Club Challenge and our final competition of the season is the new 4 way which will be held on Monday 26th at Shillington. Anyone who would like to attend either of these events will be very welcome
