A RPS (Nature Group) walk planned at Sharpenhoe Clappers
The hills around Sharpenhoe Clappers (NT) are just a short hop, skip and jump from Bedford.
“The main subjects of the outing are butterflies, other insects and chalk-specialising flowers. This is a wonderful site for butterflies, especially Chalkhill Blues. The timing of their emergence obviously changes each year so no guarantees on numbers. For those new to nature photography, it is an opportunity to learn more about macro photography. Alternatively you might like to try some more creative approaches such as shallow depth of field, double exposures etc”
The event is being managed by Ann Miles. Ann (of Cambridge CC) is one of the most helpful, creative and knowledgeable nature photographers we have. The cost for the day’s walk is free to RPS members or just £5 for non-members. A better value day out is hard to imagine. These walks are not usually workshops, you do your own thing, but there are always people around should you want help or advice.
