Members’ Details for the 2016 Exhibition

The 2016 Bedford Camera Club Exhibition will be judged in the following manner.

This year there will be no separate awards for colour or mono and no separate awards for genres (e.g. there is no separate award for wildlife or landscape etc.) All prints and all PDIs will be considered equally and together regardless of colour or genre.

Members may submit no more than 8 prints and 8 PDIs in the normal club competition format and mounts. They will be judged prior to the exhibition, and each will be given a number score by the judge, between 0 and 20.

We are able to display up to 190 prints and 190 PDIs at the exhibition. These will be chosen from the top scoring images, taking into consideration that every member is guaranteed to have at least one print and one PDI selected for the exhibition. In past years, every member who submitted the maximum number of prints was able to have all of them shown, but in the event there are more prints and/or PDIs submitted than the maximum number allowed (190 of each kind), the lowest scoring prints and/or PDIs will be culled and returned to their owners.

To reiterate;

Prints

Each member will be allowed to submit up to eight (8) prints, properly mounted as for an internal competition. There will be no specific categories; you will be allowed to submit any number of colour or monochromes that you want, but no more than eight (8) total.

There will be only one (1) cup for the overall winner of the prints category, with no distinction between colour and monochrome. The cup winner could be colour, or it could be a monochrome, but regardless, there will be only one (1) overall winner of the print category, and the author of that winning print will receive a trophy cup.

Additionally, within the prints category, the judge will be awarding a total of six (6) commended distinctions and six (6) highly commended distinctions, and those winners will receive a certificate.

Projected Digital Images (PDIs)

Each member will be allowed to submit up to eight (8) PDIs, submitted as if they were being put in an internal competition (1400 x 1050, black borders). There will be no specific categories; you will be allowed to submit any number of colour or monochromes that you want, but no more than eight (8) total.

There will be only one (1) cup for the overall winner of the PDIs category, with no distinction between colour and monochrome. The cup winner could be colour, or it could be a monochrome, but regardless, there will be only one (1) overall winner of the PDIs category, and the author of that winning PDI will receive a trophy cup.

Additionally, within the PDIs category, the judge will be awarding a total of six (6) commended distinctions and six (6) highly commended distinctions, and those winners will receive a certificate.

All the prints will go to John Pegram or Cliff Harvey. Further contact details will be provided for those wishing to hand them over during the summer recess.  There will be a great deal of work to be done with the handling, sorting, judging, re-sorting, packaging, etc. of the prints, so the sooner you get your prints to either John or Cliff, the better and easier it will be for them.

The final cut-off date for submitting prints and PDIs will be the 18th of October 2016. No exceptions.

There will be 1 cup for the best Print, 1 cup for the best PDI, 6 certificates for Highly Commend prints, 6 certificates for Commend prints, 6 certificates for Highly Commend PDIs, and 6 certificates for Commend PDIs.

The PDIs must be emailed to    and the PDI copy of the print emailed to    as normal except the subject line must read   BCC Exhibition PDIs  or  BCC Exhibition Prints   respectively. Please attach no more than 4 images to any one email. NB these annual exhibition email addresses are now different to the normal club competition addresses.

The following two buttons will open a new email in your default email program for the appropriate submission complete with the correct email address and subject line…

File names must follow the normal club format used for internal competitions. Your sequence numbers will be 1 through to 8 for prints and 1 through to 8 for PDIs.
