Portraits Evening

I am sure you all had a great evening’s photography last night with our excellent models.

The Next Step

Now it is  time to upload your best images so they can be passed to each of the models.

When you log in to PhotoEntry you will see that under the heading ‘Other Internal Competitions’ there is a listing ‘Portraits 23rd October’.

Please upload your best images to here.  You may add up to 20 images of up to 6000 x 6000 pixels, with the normal file size maximum of 10MB per image.

(On PhotoEntry, when you go to upload your images, you will see:  Target Dimensions  width 6000, height 6000. For this time, in fact, this is the maximum size and not a target to aim for, so just upload your largest image up to this dimension.)

Please make the effort to add your images so we can reward the models for their hard work.

Thank you

Stan Searle Trophy

This is your reminder that our next competition is the Stan Searle Trophy taking place on 6th November.

Please remember that this is a PRINTS only competition.  The closing date is midnight next Tuesday, 30th October.

You may enter up to three images with the theme ‘Person or People’.

Bring your prints along next Tuesday.  If this is not possible please contact Linda at linda.swain@sky.com to arrange to deliver them to her.

Each print must have a corresponding PDI.  Enter those via photoentry before the competition closes on Tuesday.

Looking forward to another great competition.

Points of View Reschedule

Points of View 2018

New Date Sunday 4 November

Because the weather was so inhospitable we had to cancel our competition scheduled for Sunday last, 14 October.

I am seeking an indication of whether you are likely to attend the event if we reschedule for 4th or 11th November.  Preferred date is 4th November if only because the later we leave it the more uncertain the weather is likely to be.

Please let me know your preference by email or at next Tuesday’s club meeting.

Many thanks

Jim Boud

Seasonal Points Scores

Now that we use Photoentry to upload our images for competitions, we have a new bonus feature.

By logging in with your user ID, you will see that your scores for this week’s competition are now recorded.

  • click on the second ‘Show Series Results’ to reveal a list of all scores in the competition

Remember that all future competitions are open for you to enter your images at any time you like.

Photo Entry Help

Photo Entry (PE) is our new method for members to submit competition entries directly online.
It is a BIG time-saver, both for the Competition Secretary and for yourselves. The feedback has been very positive. Most members have been using it with no problem.
However one or two have had a problem so I would like to make you aware of some points to bear in mind.

New Season Competitions – Important Information

By now you should all have received an email containing your log in details and temporary password to enable you to access PhotoEntry.

For those of you who are not yet aware, this is the system we are now using to enter images into competitions.  It is going to make life much easier as you no longer need to email images to the competition secretary, just upload them to PhotoEntry.  Even better, you do not need to add black borders to your images.

To find out how to use PhotoEntry, on the club website go to the Competitions menu, Submitting Images and Prints.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find links to an excellent video demonstration and a PDF document of instructions which make the process very easy to follow.

If you experience any difficulties or you don’t receive your login details (remember to check your spam box) then please contact Linda or Ian at compsec@bedfordcameraclub.co.uk.

Our first Seasonal Points competition is on 16th October so your images need to be in by Tuesday 9th October.  We look forward to seeing some super entries.

Starting Competitions

Tuesday night, at the first club night of the season, Linda included an excellent live demonstration of the new method to submit images to the club competitions.

More details can be found here

If you are new to the club and would like to know a little more about how the competitions are run, how to prepare an image, what a judge might be looking for in an image or have any other questions I will be at the club next week (October 9th) at 6.45pm.

We had one new member who is interested in this; if you would like to join us please let me know (email to ian@colink.co.uk)
