Greensand Country ‘Delving into Heritage’ Day

Eloise Markwick from Greensand Country, who gave the club a presentation back in May, has very kindly offered discounted entry to a ‘Delving into Heritage’ Day on Tuesday 16th July which takes the theme of monastic heritage in the Greensand area.

It is to be held at the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey.

This is a special arrangement for BCC members and their guests only and allows entry for £5 per person instead of £15.

Exciting New Summer Event

Flower, Macro and Sunset Photography

For the first time, we are invited this year to visit Merriflowers Flower Farm in Oakley for an evening’s photography.

The farm, which began by growing Christmas trees, now also has a vast area of flower beds and poly tunnels.

It is situated at the top of a hill offering views of the surrounding countryside.

There is plenty of room for everyone to move around and to use tripods.  Grass paths take you around the site.

The peak time for flowers is August and we have been offered a Tuesday evening there on the 6th or 20th August.

The evening will run from 6pm with a tour of the site (or later if you can’t manage 6pm) until 8.30pm.   This will give us plenty of time to take close up flower shots as well as the insects which are attracted by them.

Sunset is at 8.30pm giving us the opportunity for sunset shots from the hill over the surrounding fields and countryside.

The cost for the evening is £10 per person, including refreshments.

The maximum number of participants is ten so it will be first come, first served.  If there is lots of interest, we could run two evenings.

Please contact Linda on by 1st July to book your place, expressing your preferred date.
