I am a fine art landscape and nature photographer from Bedfordshire in the UK.
My interest in photography began 4 years ago on a holiday to Jordan. Inspired by the vast, fiery red landscapes of Wadi Rum I returned home with a burning desire to visually document the beauty of the world we live in. Since then I have endeavoured to learn all I can about photography and have travelled extensively around the UK and Europe with a camera in hand.
Although my passion for photography began with vast vistas, I have a current appreciation for more subtle imagery that conveys a sense of emotion and captures a specific, unrepeatable moment in time. There’s a certain kind of beauty in impermanence, a certain kind of magic in a moment. Sand patterns created by a receding tide. A millisecond of golden light. The perfect wave.

The Pubtraits board is a set of 36 images and measures 1 meter square. All images are custom processed and mounted into a handmade wooden frame.
This is now a part of history, alongside the other images in the pub that were taken at the turn of the 19th century.
The board has become a focal point for discussion in the pub and the young people who took part will be able to bring their kids and grandkids here one day and show them that they were a part of this historical event in village history.
This site is about my photography, but it is also about my journey to try to be a better photographer. I am using these pages to record my notes about cameras, equipment, exhibitions, styles, locations, clubs, photographers, courses, workshops and all the other stuff that appeals to photography nerds like myself.
I joined the Royal Photographic Society a few years ago, and I am working towards their distinctions. We all think our photographs are amazing, but the critical appraisal from professionals quickly put me in my place. I have the ARPS which I achieved with a Travel Panel. More details about that are here.

I started with a small Panasonic Lumix, then upped my game to an Olympus EM10, and a couple of years later I added an Olympus EM1. Upgraded again to the OM-1 but kept the others, including JJ's EM5. The windowsill is full. My passion is insect and bird photography.
I love walking (climbed Ben Nevis in 2012 and trudged up Snowdon in Aug. 2014), finished the Cornish coast path in 2019, meeting friends, family research and holidays, but there's not enough of those.
Blip continues to be an important part of my life; it’s a very special community.
